Move Like Home
Folk Dance
Move Like Home is a movement workshop inspired by traditional dances, collective rhythms, and cultural exchange.
Rooted in my Kurdish background and shaped by a transcultural approach, this format invites participants to explore movement as a language of connection, memory, and belonging. Through simple choreographies, group exercises, and shared experiences, we create space for curiosity, encounter, and joyful expression.
The session typically lasts two hours and can be extended depending on available resources and needs. No previous dance experience is required. Move Like Home welcomes people from all backgrounds and encourages participants to bring their own stories, rhythms, and perspectives into the space. Together, we move between tradition and contemporary practice, discovering how movement can connect us across cultures, generations, and lived experiences.
